It is a lump sum payment intended to assist you if you live in Queensland &#8211; Local Government Area that has declared a disaster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Who can get it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To meet the residence rules for Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment or Disaster Recovery Allowance, you must either:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">be an Australian resident<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hold an eligible visa and be living in Australia.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How much you can get<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re eligible you\u2019ll get:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$1,000 per adult<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$400 for each child younger than 16.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to claim<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are 3 steps to claim the Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. Get ready to claim<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Australian residents must claim online. If you\u2019re a protected visa holder, you\u2019re considered to be an Australian resident and can claim online.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To claim online, you need a myGov account linked to Centrelink.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Link Centrelink to your myGov account<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019ve claimed a payment before, you can use your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN) to link Centrelink to myGov. You\u2019ll also need to answer some personal questions. If you don\u2019t know your CRN or can\u2019t answer the personal questions using your CRN, select I need a CRN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you haven\u2019t claimed a payment from us before, you\u2019ll need to prove your identity online using myGov.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3.
