This makes the Vietnamese-born population the sixth largest migrant community in Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Australia&#8217;s Vietnamese-born migrants:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The median age of 46.5 years was 9.1 years above that of the general population.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Females outnumbered males &#8211; 55.8% compared with 44.2%.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please scroll down for more detailed information about permanent migration, temporary migration and main occupations of Vietnamese migrants. From 2019 to 2020, the Partner visa has the highest proportion of 2,245 places granted, followed by State\/Territory Nominated (702 places granted) and Regional visas (669 places granted).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Temporary Migration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People can come to Australia for a temporary stay for a variety of reasons, such as tourism, attending a conference, medical treatment, study, skilled work, working holidays, or other specialised activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From 2019-2020, the highest temporary visa grants for Vietnamese belong to the visitor visa (56,001 visa grants).
