It has saved tens of thousands of lives by preventing some of the worst consequences of the virus&#8217;s early spread, and Australia today has one of the world&#8217;s highest immunization rates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Australia moves towards living with COVID-19, the emergency measures will also lapse. From 18 April 2022:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passengers are not required to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test prior to departure for Australia.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No restrictions on the entry of cruise vessels into and within Australian territory<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Australian citizens do not need to apply for an exemption to leave the country if they have not had enough vaccines, but must report their vaccination status if required by authorities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">International travelers entering and exiting Australia will still be required to show proof of double COVID-19 immunization. On international flights, passengers will still be forced to wear a mask due to medical advise.
